Quick info about navigation.
In first image player have a compass which can help navigation, it is still easily possible to navigate without compass.
The top of the map is always north, and the red obelisk will always be placed at the north – west mountain of the map, which again is upper left corner of the map. The blue beacon is on east side of the map and midway north/south. While the green obelisk is in south-west aka lower-left corner of the map.
For example of player is in north-west area of the map and need to go to island in south-east corner, make sure the blue obelisk is halfway on left side of screen while green is on the half right of screen. That gives a rough direction south-east.
Other views :
As seen from west side of the map , green will be on right side, red will be on left side and blue far away in the middle.
From south part of map, view is north. Red obelisk at far left corner, blue is midway at right side of map. Green obelisk will be near on left side.
From east side of map, view is westward. Blue obelisk center and near. Red far away at right side. Green far away on left side.
Finally north side facing southward. Blue obelisk midway left side, red obelisk close on right side. Green far away right side.
