Currently theres four classes of armor in ARK.
- Cloth gear – Provides best defense against heat but minimal versus dinosaurs. Can also drop from white beam crates (level 3).
- Hide gear – Better defense against cold but less against heat, provides some defense against dinos. Can also drop from green beacons (level 15).
- Chitin gear – Have better protection against dinos but get warm very fast, and less effective against cold. Can be found in blue beacons (level 25).
- Flak gear – The ultimate in protection against dinos but lousy protection against climatic conditions.
Above gear can also be crafted of course.
