Normally things like this never get posted, but in this case we make an example for educational purpose.
The service public available game servers offers, is an offer not a privilege.
Being able to join such servers means, or should mean, that one should read the rules and follow the rules of the actual server.
The reason for rules is same as elsewhere in society, their there to guide and protect, with consequences if their broken.
Raptor servers have rules, their not unreasonable and 99,9% of the players have no problem with those rules as they fall with common sense and mature behavior.
Raptor is now and then giving away sponsored prizes to players on the server, and with that follows some extra requirements of server & players.
Yesterday a few new individuals joined the Raptor #1 PVE ark server.
A new tribe where founded, with the not so mature name of “Tribe of Pikk” which is simply translated to “Tribe of Dick” with a clear link to male genitalia.
First of all, thats a silly name in itself and not even funny.
Second any sponsor will refuse to give any prizes to any tribe or individual with such a name, no one would say “and the titan X giveaway goes to Tribe of Pikk”.
An admin confronted the players in question by messaging them in their own language, by server broadcast, private message to selected invidual, and then in public chat.
It took a few attempts to get their attention.
When getting their attention, they where simply asked to rename their tribe, and their dinos “Pikk Satan (Translated: Dick Satan)” / “Dildo” / “Horny Bastard”.
Instead of do it the easy way, rename tribe and dinos and problem would been solved. The guys in question started an offence vs admin.
It is one thing not agree with admins, and having a mature discussion around the problem. When intention is to cause more problems by acting aggressive and immature, thats not positively contributing in any way.
Usually at this point or even earlier, placing a steamID ban would been the quicker solution that many admins would choosen. Ours is told to try solve issues before ban, ban should be last resort.
As a reminder to Mr. FoxGod , when you join an Steam based server protected by VAC and active admins, keep in mind the digital footprints you leave behind. All steam games will reveal your unique steamID.
The same apply to Mr. SwagOn, and in this case we anonymized the photo, which btw is searchable across entire internet. Thanks for the backup 🙂
A view of your dinos :
Summed up, the buildings been demolished, a few remaining dinos where freed. You where both >< this close to get a ban, but we havent as we belive people may change to the better.
As you spoke to admin about, giveaway prizes, well your actions ruined your chances on that. Next time, on next server, think twice, having the option todo something doesnt always translate into it being a smart thing todo 🙂
